June Essay Contest Winner
Winner of RAH Caregiver Contest
We have selected our winner of our June essay contest!!! We had many wonderful entries but of course there can only be one winner and we felt Staci Wise inspired us all!
For those of you who are new to RAH, we asked our caregivers to submit how being a caregiver has changed their lives, inspired them and how they felt their services have helped their client lead a better quality of life. It is not based on grammar, it is based on the heartfelt feeling you get when you read it.
Here is the winner entry for June
My name is Staci Wise. I have been a caregiver since I was 19 years old. My first encounter with caregiving was when I was homeless, and a friend of mine, had a live-in situation with a man who was quadriplegic. I learned so much from him. How to be patient and how to grow into a reliable, accountable, trusting person. He relied on me for everything and I understood what it was like to care for someone who is disabled, and who is not used to being taken care of well. He really appreciated how I cared for him. He told me everyday that I was his angel. Even though I never done this before I think he knew I had some kind of talent. And he made me feel as if I was a part of his family. So we helped each other feel human, and loved. Thank you.
Thank you for that heartfelt essay Staci!
Staci wins a $50 gift card of her choice!
Let's keep the essays coming the month of July!
