We Are Proud to Honor Our Veterans
Proud to Support Our Veterans
This Veteran’s Day I was able to say “thank you” to many veterans I am lucky enough to call family, and fondly remember others who are no longer with us. As a partner to the Veteran’s Administration’s Community Care Program, Right at Home is also proud to honor veterans in our community every day with high-quality in-home care and assistance, allowing veterans the ability to remain independent at home for as long as possible.

There are two main ways that veterans are able to access additional supportive services through the Veteran’s Administration. First, as alluded to above, is through receiving Primary Care Physician services through a local VA hospital. Veterans in need of additional assistance with independent activities of daily living, such as meal preparation, laundry, and housekeeping, or activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, or ambulation assistance, can ask their VA doctor if they would qualify for assistance through the Community Care Program. Veterans deemed to need additional support are provided a set number of hours of care per day and days per week by the VA, in partnership with local agencies such as Right at Home, at no cost to the veteran.
The other resource for veterans who served during a period of conflict, regardless of where they were stationed, is the Aid and Attendance Benefits and Pension. This monthly pension is designed to assist senior veterans of limited resources, as well as their spouse or surviving spouse, with the expenses associated with chronic healthcare needs. Additional information and the application can be found here.
If you or someone you care about is a veteran with home care needs, call Right at Home today to schedule an initial, no-obligation consultation, and learn about the resources available to assist you. We thank you for your service, and are here to assist you.
