Virtual Dementia Tour on ABC News

ABC News reporter Cynthia McFadden experiences the Virtual Dementia Tour and shares the story of a family facing Alzheimer's disease. The Virtual Dementia Tour® is a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction.

Owner of Right at Home of South Shore Long Island, Tony Gagliano, is a trained Virtual Dementia Tour facilitator. He facilitates training sessions in the local community on a regular basis.

"With regards the Dementia tour training, this has provided me with some understanding what a family can experience with their family member they are caring for of a day to day basis. I have been able to provide some insight to the family what the individual could be experiencing daily i.e. what they hear, feel and see. The adults I work with can have multiple disabilities including Dementia, however I have found that families do not necessarily put their family member's behavior down to a form of Dementia.
