Senior Home Care is Personal to Trina Slatinsky

Trina Slatinsky's Grandfather

When asked why I chose the homecare business, the answer was clear.

I called him Grandpa.

My grandfather and I had a very strong bond. He was the best person I have known in this life.

Growing up I spent quite a bit of time with my grandparents and enjoyed every moment of it. Our relationship was always special but specifically with my grandfather as we would play darts and listen to music as he'd served me up soda from the bar. What kid wouldn't feel special hanging out with grandpa?

Special Cards Each Year

When I was ten years old I made him a giant "Happy Birthday" clown picture. My grandfather loved it so much that he kept it for years. Each birthday he brought it back out and bragged as if it were just given to him all over again. Perhaps his joy is what led to a tradition of cards for years to come. A special gift from me to him. As he read, tears always fell. I filled each card with sentiments expressing how much he meant to me. I even asked that he please never leave me, as I would always need him. Truly - I just wanted him to wait for me.

Missing So Much About Grandpa

What I miss most about my grandpa are his amazing hugs (even if sometimes he squeezed a bit too tight, makes me chuckle thinking about it). I miss him working in the garden on Saturdays and greeting him at the door each holiday. I even miss his silly eagerness to get through the holidays. I miss his love, his kind words and wisdom, the way he cared for others, and the compassion he showed. I just miss him.

To this day, I speak to him in prayer daily and ask he help me do my best. I miss him more than words could ever say.
