2023 West Regional Caregiver of the Year
Tabitha Miller’s Community Approach to Caregiving Earns Her Right at Home West Region Caregiver of the Year
Congratulations to Tabitha Miller from Right at Home Oro Valley, Arizona, on her recognition as the 2023 Right at Home West Region Caregiver of the Year! She was selected from thousands of other caregivers for her exemplary commitment to making a difference in the lives of her clients.
Tabitha’s day often starts before sunrise, checking on clients at a local independent residential community. Tabitha serves as many as 20 clients a day in the community. They count on her for medication reminders, showers and personal care, laundry services, and escorts to the dining hall. Requests for assistance and changes to schedules happen from moment to moment. Tabitha’s ability to adapt and reprioritize on demand has earned her the title of “Mighty Mouse” among her residential clients and the Right at Home caregiving team.
“Tabitha represents everything we stand for as a community leader in professional in-home care,” said Karen Kochhar, co-owner of Right at Home Oro Valley. “She has a remarkable talent for building trust with reluctant clients in desperate need of personal care and makes a positive impact on their health and in their lives.”
Tabitha earns the trust of her clients and is seen as a leader among the residential care staff and Right at Home office team. Tabitha trains new caregivers in the independent residential facility, sharing her skills in caregiving and knowledge of clients’ care needs and personal preferences.
Tabitha is always willing to lend a helping hand. For example, the Right at Home office once called Tabitha after she completed her workday to see if she could help care for a new client with dementia who was frightened and needed medical attention. Tabitha did not hesitate to put the client’s needs first.
“She’s had an impact on more clients than any other caregiver in our agency,” said Sunir Kochhar, co-owner of Right at Home Oro Valley. “She takes ownership of every client’s plan and ensures their needs are met every day. And then she goes above and beyond to find ways to create extraordinary experiences.”
From providing daily personal care to creating exceptional care experiences, Tabitha’s compassion, selflessness, and willingness to go the extra mile have made her a valued member of Right at Home and a beloved caregiver for seniors in the Oro Valley community.
Honoring Our Caregivers
National and Regional Caregivers of the Year are the highest honors awarded by Right at Home. Caregivers are nominated for their exemplary commitment to making a difference in the lives of their clients and teams. The winners are selected by a committee that includes Right at Home representatives and community professionals from outside health care, senior care and caregiving organizations. The award is presented annually during the organization’s conference.
