Our Mission

Put simply, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Of course, we recognize that everyone’s idea of “quality of life” is different, which is why it’s so important to us to make you an active part of your own care plan. We want you to be in the driver’s seat regardless of any limitations or challenges you’re facing.

Most of all, we believe aging isn’t just about staying healthy, safe and independent. It’s also about living well.

Steve & Carole Luber

Owners

For over 11 years, Steve & Carole Luber have dedicated themselves to providing quality care to seniors and adults needing assistance so they can remain “Right at Home”. Steve and Carole own and operate four Right at Home In-Home Care & Assistance Agencies located in Howard, Frederick, Carroll and Washington Counties. Whether it’s extra assistance after a stay in the hospital, an aging parent, who needs extra help or companionship, or respite for a wife or husband who cares for an ailing spouse, they and their staff will customize a plan to care for your loved one.

Steve and his family have local roots to the community. Steve was the first class to graduate from Centennial High School and his mother still resides in the childhood home in Ellicott City. Steve  attended Towson Univeristy where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Steve worked many years with local companies who were leaders in the business community.  Carole grew up in Woodlawn and graduated from Villa Julie College with a dual degree in Medical Assistance/Medical Lab Technician.  She worked for several years in the Pathology Department at Baltimore County General Hospital (aka Northwest Hospital).

When both Steve and Carole’s parents were faced with life-limiting and chronic illnesses they soon realized that caring for their parents while working and raising 3 young children would be quite overwhelming.   Finding reliable, outside support from individuals who were caring, trained and capable proved to be a challenge. After their experience Steve and Carole decided they could do a better job finding individuals to provide high quality home care.

They did their due diligence in researching and selecting a  homecare company that was professional and commited to improving the quality of life of seniors.  They knew they had the right company when they were greeted with the warmth, compassion and commitment by that of Right at Home CEO, Allen Hager.

Steve and Carole continue to be an integral part of the day to day operations of their four locations. Their success is a result of their personal commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of the seniors and adults they serve.

“Every day we know we are making a positive difference  with a loved one’s care.”

Alzheimer’s Association’s Advocacy Day

On Feb. 9, staff from the Right at Home office in Hagerstown, Md., participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Advocacy Day at the state capitol in Annapolis, Md. The office is owned by Steve and Carole Luber, Eileen McLaughlin, and Jean Long.

The group, pictured above to the left, joined more than 100 other advocates to meet with state and local delegates and senators to express their support for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer's Meeting with Maryland Delegate Ciliberti and local Alzheimer's Association

After our initial introduction at the State Capitol in Annapolis on February 9th, we joined forces with our Maryland State Delegate, Barrie S. Ciliberti and the local Alzheimer's Association on February 27th.

Delegate Ciliberti was so thoroughly engaged and interested in learning more about Alzheimer's Awareness; he personally sought us out to say he was touched by our advocacy shown at the capitol. Delegate Ciliberti sits on the Appropriations Committee for our counties and will be furthering awareness to Alzheimer's, an illness affecting 100,000 + folks in Maryland alone.
