Summary:

The Homemaker/Companion position is an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients in a variety of settings providing them with in-home care support services. In-home can mean anywhere they are currently living, at their residence, assisted living, skilled nursing facility, or hospital. The ideal team member will be friendly, enthusiastic, have a positive attitude, be nurturing, and have the ability to develop lasting relationships. Candidates should be flexible in their schedule and able to put themselves in our client’s shoes. How would you want your loved ones to be treated and cared for? Applicants will need to be an empathetic, strong communicator, who is detail-oriented and efficient. You will be interacting with clients regularly to ensure we provide the best care.

Essential Functions:

  • Companionship for the client
  • Enjoy the client’s activities
  • Assist with Bathing; Dressing; Feeding
  • Assist with transfer to and from bed or chair
  • Assist to and from toilet, assist with any toileting needs
  • Keep incontinent residents clean
  • Re-position residents in bed or chair
  • Assist with personal and dental hygiene
  • Assist in ambulation
  • Record Activities of Daily Living
  • Observe residents and note physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite, etc.
  • Use safety devices and standard precautions to prevent the spread of infection and disease
  • Be able to use wheelchairs, walkers, canes, linens, towels, and personal hygiene supplies
  • Homemaking activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, doing dishes, changing linens, laundry, cleaning bathrooms
  • Meal prep, snack prep, grocery shopping, and cleanup
  • Candidates will need to consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of Caregiving experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, professionalism and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently, demonstrating sound judgment and high degree of self-motivation
  • Be available as required for on-call duty outside of normal office hours
