Helping Others While Having Fun!

Male Caregiver Talking with His Office Staff

"Right at Home is a really great place to work! I enjoy my job and the owner Edwin cares a lot about all of us. Plus, the care team and office staff are great . . . love all you guys! I get to actually help seniors and adults with disabilities in need, all while having fun with them. Some are really stuck because they don't have any way to get out or can't afford it. It's part of my job to help them get out of their houses and see a bigger world than they normally could without me. It means so much to me!"Jesslyn, Caregiver with Right at Home

Lisa dedicates her life to doing what she loves most in the world, being a caregiver!

When she has 5 minutes off, she jumps into her potato chips to get energy to continue helping as much as she can, because according to her words, every client is special, and she treasures every minute spent with them.

She advices to new generations of caregivers to be patient, get to know your clients, and treat them as family. As a girl, she looked forward to taking care of her grandma, but as being unable to do it, now she decides to take care of other’s grandmas as if they were their own.

Caregiver Spotlight – Carrie

Meet Carrie! They’ve been a caregiver with us for 5 months, and we look forward to witnessing their shine for a long time. When not on duty, they find comfort in the great outdoors. Whether it’s cycling, strolling, or horseback riding, the fresh air and nature’s embrace invigorate their spirit. And animals? They hold a special place in their heart. The Washington Commanders fuel their football passion. Cheering during intense matches ignites a surge of energy within them. Imagine this: a satisfying Snickers bar and a handful of trail mix nuts—pure snack heaven.

One of their most treasured memories as a Right at Home caregiver involves a genuine connection with a client. Upon arriving at the client’s home, no mobile devices were available. They assisted with assessments, raised toilet seats, and revamped the shower. But the true magic? Taking the client outside—an unprecedented experience. It lifted the client’s spirits, reminding them that they were a person with stories to share. They even went together to Client’s college reunion, and it was a heartwarming adventure.

Their 91-year-old grandma serves as a daily inspiration. Despite setbacks, they care for others like family. Their resilience fuels their unwavering dedication. To new caregivers, Carrie advises: Always give your best. Treat clients as if they were your own family. Trust, dependability, and compassion—these are the keys to making a difference. Carrie has learned that money cannot match the warmth of touching lives. It’s the intangible moments that truly matter.

Carrie is our Austin Caregiver of the month because of their pure heart, passionate work and remarkable skills. All their clients want to keep them around 24/7!
