“Hey y’all, my name is Leah. I’m originally from Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve lived here in Ohio for 16 years. I have 2 teenage daughters who attend New Albany Schools. When my youngest daughter was younger she attended Broadway Bound Dance Centere in New Albany as well as Pinnell Dance Studio in Gahanna while my youngest daughter played Soccer and Flag Football for several years at Bevelhymer Park through New Albany Parks & Recreation. I’m a Medical Assistant who originally started working for an allergist. But once my dad became really sick, my family and I decided that it was best that someone was there with him all of the time. Since my children, parents and I live together, I left my job and stayed home with my dad while watching little ones from home. After about 4 years, I’m not going to lie, sadly and one of the absolute worst day in my life, my dad passed away. I continued watching my littles, but once they got older and dwindled away, I thought to myself, I could care for many others who need someone with compassion and patience. I can honestly say that I found what I was meant to do in life. It’s been almost a year of caregiving and at the age of 39 I finally found something that I love doing. It does come with heartache but the happiness that I bring to the client and their family means more to me in the end.”
