CE Workshop, Ethical Dilemmas in Self Neglect

A Complimentary Continuing Education Workshop - 2 CE hours for Licensed Social Workers and Certified Case Managers

Ethical Dilemmas in Self-Neglect and the Older Person

Right at Home Nassau Suffolk along with Medcase Therapy Services are sponsoring a Continuing Education workshop on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Sunrise Senior Living of Dix Hills. The topic for the workshop is Ethical Dilemaas in Self-Neglect and the Older Person.

As issues of self-neglect correlate with increased need for emergency room visits and increased use of Medicare and insurance funds, this presentation will review the role of hospital and sub-acute rehabilitation discharge planners and case managers in assessing for environmental and self-neglect 'red-flags' as part of the discharge process. Participants will explore self-neglect as it relates to Elder Abuse along with the issues of professional ethics in Social Work and Case Management practice.
