Nearly half of adults who either have neurocognitive changes like dementia, or are partnered with a person with neurocognitive changes are sexually active. Yet sexuality in older adults is a rarely discussed topic. This presentation will explore societal taboos of this topic, the ethical and legal issues that might arise, and how families and professional caregivers need to reframe their beliefs and not view expression of sexuality as a “behavior” that needs intervention.
