Rebecca's Story

"We first discovered in-home care when seeking a solution to enable my husband’s mother to stay in her home, on the farm in her small rural community in which she had resided most of her life. This is where my husband’s parents celebrated almost 50 years of marriage, and raised four children. This was her home!

My mother-in-law was always blessed with great physical health, but when dementia set in it gradually proved to be too much. Careers had pulled our family away from the area years earlier, and though my husband’s siblings, still in the area provided her with the daily loving support we could not being hours away, the demands of daily life made it necessary for additional support during the day. I credit my husband’s siblings for recognizing when it was time for more routine care for her, and especially their research and discovery of an in-home care solution which provided those valuable extra years in her own home. Initially resistant, she soon came to realize this solution would actually allow her to maintain her independence, and not inhibit it. The companion care provided proved to enrich her daily life with conversation, card games, board games, transportation to the grocery store and bingo, and so much more. Soon the caregiver was like part of the family.

Though our initial, and remaining, goal was to provide the special care and attention only a small professional locally owned organization can provide, we also wanted the benefit of partnering with a nationally recognized Care provider focused exclusively on delivering the very best in-home care and companion care. After extensive research, we discovered Right At Home Inc., a senior home care and staffing company providing care since 1985. Right At Home provides our office that partnership and structure coupled with our passion and local expertise in Northwest Arkansas to ensure we are delivering the exceptional care we wanted so much for my mother-in-law."
