Entry Level Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Fayetteville

Location: Fayetteville, AR

After completing our corporate sponsored Personal Care Assistant course, where a wealth of information on companion and personal care is presented, caregivers also learn hands on personal care such as using a gait belt, transferring a client safely, and giving bed baths. Entry level personal care assistants learn specific ways to preform duties such as companionship and homemaking skills. Homemaking skills provide the maintenance of a safe and clean home environment as well as preforms various housekeeping skills and meal preparation. Companionship provides activities for clients in their residences while maintaining quality of life. A personal care assistant provides for the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Performs various housekeeping tasks, meal preparation and companionship activities for clients in their residences.

Personal Care Assistant Essential Functions

  • Performs homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions.
  • Performs patient-specific activities. These could include (but are not limited to):
  • Performing errands and/or providing transportation
  • Provides companionship for the client. This includes accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies, etc.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Successful completion of the sponsored Personal Care Assistance training (40 hours)
  • Completion a Competency Evaluation
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of an insured automobile.
