2023 Caregiver of the Year

Christina Haney

Right at Home Scranton was thrilled to recognize Christina Haney for her dedication to serving clients within our community, and she was selected as our 2023 Caregiver of the Year. Prior to joining the Right at Home team four years ago, Christina worked for other agencies serving Lackawanna county. Christina said she developed a passion for caregiving while working as a dietary aide. She noticed that there were residents who were missing meals because they weren’t able to get to the dining room. So she started hand delivering their meals, and someone said she was working in the wrong department. That set her on the caregiver path, which she has been on for 20 years. She says, “I think the job chose me, I didn’t choose it.”

Right at Home Scranton owner, Ashley Creedon, feels Christina embodies the most important characteristics of a caregiver. Ashley says, “Christina is selfless and compassionate. Her reliability and determination are second to none. Our team knows that we can count on her to deliver the care our clients are promised  with a huge smile on her face.” One of Christina’s clients said, “She is never in a bad mood. I know when she is here, I will be well taken care of, and we will have a laugh while we are at it!”

Upon winning this award, Christina expressed how honored she was. She says, “It’s nice to be recognized for doing the right things.”

Conratulations, Christina!
