Your Career as a Caregiver

A Note about COVID-19

Now, more than ever, it’s clear how essential caregivers really are. The people we serve rely on our caregivers, not just for companionship during a time of isolation, but also for assistance with their basic needs. Without dedicated caregivers, many seniors and adults with disabilities would be left with little support. You can make all the difference.

When you become a caregiver, no day will ever be exactly the same as the last. No matter what type of caregiving you provide, you will always have a wide variety of duties and experiences.

And that’s important to us.

Caregivers are the heart of our organization. We know our company couldn’t exist without you, which is why it’s so important to us to keep your passion strong and to ensure your needs are met.

Read more below about the unique positions we offer, along with the training and support we provide to every Right at Home caregiver.

Types of Caregiving

We’re proud to be able to offer elderly people and adults with disabilities a wide variety of care plans. Though some of our clients will need more advanced care, including administration of medicine or hygiene assistance, others are simply looking for help with their everyday routines or assistance in recuperating from a hospital stay. This means that no matter your current training or skill level, chances are we have a position for you.

We are committed to providing quality home care.

Client satisfaction is important to us because it’s the reason we are in this business in the first place! Our Mission is to Improve the Quality of Life for Those We Serve. If our clients aren’t highly satisfied with our services, then we probably aren’t fulfilling our mission

We go out of our way to listen carefully from the very first phone call to help ensure that we are the right service for the situation and to also identify other services or products that might benefit their situation. We create a custom Plan of Care which includes a summary of the client’s life history, hobbies, spirituality, and other details so that we can match them with a caregiver that is going to be a good, long-term fit. We provide the caregiver with all information, including concerns, before the caregiver accepts the client as part of their case load. We take the time to meet the caregiver at the client’s home on the first day of service to assess whether we have made a good fit after all as well as to be sure everyone is on the same page as far as the Plan of Care is concerned.  We follow up with both client and caregiver after a few visits to see how it’s going as well as at least every 90 days. We deliver a calendar with photos of office staff, a large pen, and a jar of Paul’s homemade Rhubarb Jam every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We take their (our) caregivers to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre each year (and other retention tools) to help assure that our turnover is low and they can experience the best continuity of care in the industry.
