Gregg Simons - Owner

Gregg Simons introduced Right at Home to uptown New York City where he and his family called home for more than 25 years.

He attended Brandeis University and met his wife, Diane, during the same time. The two married in 1994 and have two daughters -- Samantha and Melissa. After college, Gregg built a successful career on Wall Street over the course of 23 exciting years. He traded healthcare and technology equities and options, but as members of his family advanced in age, his interests in elder care grew.

“My grandfather Joe lived in Florida, with no close relative living nearby. My parents and I lived 1,200 miles away from him. Making sure he was in a safe environment was often challenging until we found a home care aide and geriatric care manager to help him a few times a week. The help improved his quality of life significantly, he lived to 99 years old,” said Gregg.

“The same is true with my grandmother-in-law, Pearl. She was diagnosed with dementia in her late 80s. Pearl was a longtime resident of Providence, Rhode Island and had family nearby. She was cared for primarily by her family, but when the family caregiver needed some respite care, she too benefited from the help of home care assistants. She aged gracefully. On her 100th birthday, she was even featured by Willard Scott on his show. Pearl enjoyed a long life and lived to 102.”

Gregg realized that he and his parents were not alone when it came to planning care for aging family members. “Helping loved ones to age in place is a much-discussed topic among my peers and my parents’ generation, but there is not always a clear solution,” said Gregg. As he planned for a career transition, he decided to contribute his skills in making a difference in people’s lives -- he chose to redirect his interpersonal and management skills to providing senior home care assistance in the uptown Manhattan area.

Besides building a compassionate and caring team to serve his local community, he is also an active member and contributor to numerous charities including the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCFA), the UJA Federation of New York, the Securities and Traders Associationsand had served on the New York Board of Summer Search. Gregg was just announced as a Board Member of the New York Memory Center, that meets the needs of people living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia-related disorders.

Gregg’s office earned the certification of Trusted Provider of In-Home Care by Home Care Pulse, and was recognized by Caring.com as “A Caring Star” in 2017. Gregg is a certified member of the Home Care Association of America; a member of Elder Care Matters, Aging Life Care (ALCA), Orion Resource Group, East Side Council on the Aging (ESCOTA), West Side Inter-Agency Council for the Aging (WSIACA), the Society of Certified Senior Advisors (CSA), National Parkinson’s Foundation, CaringKind, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
