Team Right at Home: (Left to Right) Enrie Morales (Right at Home of Bronx), Gregg Simons (Right at Home of Uptown NYC), Carol Amandola (Right at Home of Southern Brooklyn) and Walter Ochoa (Right at Home of Brooklyn).
The New York City Right at Home crew hosted an information booth at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) conference on May 13th at the NY Hilton. The conference focused on concepts of Alzheimer’s care for both patients and caregivers. Breakout sessions covered topics ranging from clinical progression and treatments to Caregiver stories and therapy through music and art.
It was a great day learning about progressive techniques to work with Alzheimer’s patients as well as a nice opportunity to meet other professionals who work closely with people with Alzheimer's.

AFA defineds Alzeimer's disease as "a progressive disorder that attacks brain cells or neurons, resulting in memory loss, language and thinking skills and behavior. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of Dementia, or loss of intellectual function in people aged 65 and older."
Right at Home takes a lot of pride in training our caregivers to work with people with Alzheimer’s.
