Grace Atwood, MA Gerontology & Vernon Atwood, CSA

Owners

Grace and Vernon Atwood have been married for over 30 years. They bonded over their shared family values and their passion for helping older adults. For over 20 years they have been active community members of both Orange and Los Angeles County. Combined they also have over 50 years in the healthcare field.

Grace was raised in a multi-generational household, allowing her to learn from the older adults in her life and encouraging her to help the elderly. This also influenced her to earn her master’s degree in gerontology with a focus on wellness and longevity, which she uses in order to best assist Right at Home clients and caregivers. Grace also has over 20 years of leadership experience. She previously worked as a director of quality engineering for a medical device company, mentoring her employees and ensuring that the company consistently met customers’ expectations. Grace uses this experience to mentor office staff and employees, as well as to make sure that clients get quality care.

Vernon Atwood is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). His mom was an Registered Nurse and he was always drawn towards healthcare, leading him to work as an engineer for over 30 years in the healthcare industry. When Vernon’s mom became ill he was able to use a caregiver to watch after her as she was on the other side of the country. He saw first-hand how beneficial it was for family to stay independent in their own homes, which led to him and Grace opening Right at Home Northwest OC.

Berlin Romero

Care Supervisor

Berlin Romero has worked at Right at Home for over eight years. She began her career as a caregiver with Right at Home (winning Best Caregiver of the West Region 2021) and has since grown into becoming our office’s care supervisor. She provides support for our amazing care staff and clients, ensuring that clients feels safe and caregivers feel prepared. Through a scholarship with Right at Home, Berlin was able to gain her CNA certification, giving her critical care knowledge that she uses and shares with are care staff. Berlin is an essential member of our team who is passionate about caring for those in need.

Desiree Perez

Care Lead

Desiree has been one of our compassionate caregivers for 2 years. She now acts as care lead, making sure that shifts go smoothly, providing necessary supplies when needed. If you call Right at Home during office hours, chances are you’ll speak to Desiree as she is also our office receptionist!

Ghazaleh (Giselle) Farhang

Care Coordinator

Giselle states that she always knew that she wanted to work in a field that allows her to help others. After working over a decade as a caregiver and in customer service, Giselle now joins our team as care coordinator where she manages client care plans.

Jacqueline Atwood, RD

Nutrition Consultant

Jacqueline is a registered dietitian with a passion for helping others build a healthy relationship with food. She uses her expertise and master’s degree in nutritional sciences in order to provide Right at Home clients with one on one nutrition counseling, general meal planning, and nutrition education classes (on zoom or in person).

Hanna Aboulwafa

Account Manager

Hanna first joined Right at Home as a caregiver back in 2007, and her passion for home care continued to grow as she developed strong relationships with families and caregivers. Hanna loves interacting with seniors and listening to their stories, which helps her with customizing their care plans to improve their quality of life. Her goal is to provide a positive and friendly environment for our caregivers, our seniors and their families.

Miriam Hernandez

Scheduler

Prior to working at Right at Home, Miriam worked in customer service and sales for almost 10 years, allowing her to solve many of the situations that come her way. Miriam states that she understands the importance of quality caregiving because she has seen its affects first hand while caring for her son with intellectual disabilities. Her experiences have taught her to be patient and to use different ways to communicate with others.

Kevin Karkut

Bookkeeper

Kevin currently provides financial support at Right at Home by completing payroll, preparing billing and answering client questions related to billing. Prior to working at Right at Home Northwest OC, Kevin owned his own territory and brings indispensable knowledge of in home care.

Tracie Mangold

Recruiter

Tracie came to Right at Home with a degree in business from Mount Saint Mary’s University. She uses her business expertise and discernment to recruit and hire compassionate caregivers. Tracie also provides caregivers with an orientation, onboarding, and training to help grow their skills and knowledge in order to ensure that they feel prepared and comfortable with their shifts.

Edna McAfee

Weekend Phone Support

Edna brings with her years of experience working in the caregiving industry. She is our go to for weekend phone support, always answering the phones with a professional can-do attitude.
