Jennifer Selden, Owner
Jennifer and her family have had personal experience trying to figure out the best home care options when her grandmother needed 24/7 care after being in a rehab center. When she and her husband were considering opening a business, Jennifer was inspired by Right at Home's role in helping seniors and their families, as well as the mission statement of improving the quality of life for those they serve.
“I first learned about the importance and value of home care and the positive, life-changing impact that it can have on seniors and their families when my grandmother suddenly required care. My mother had to make arrangements for 24-hour home care within a very short amount of time and until that care was in place, family members took turns taking care of my grandmother. It was scary for us because, being untrained in how to care for the elderly, we were actually afraid we would hurt her instead of help her. We were really relieved when we got some help. ”
Before opening Right at Home, Jennifer worked as Assistant Director of Fascinate-U Children's Museum, and also spent time raising her family while her husband was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. Outside of work, Jennifer has served on the Board of Directors for The Foundation for International Professional Exchange, and is responsible for coordinating the organization's projects in Ukraine that include a scholarship and awards program and an international student exchange program.
“Once I had personal experience with in-home care and assistance, and saw the immediate positive impact that it had on my own family, I understood why this is such an important service to provide.”

Katie Whaley, Director of Operations
"After staying home for ten years raising my three children, I decided to pursue a career in Healthcare. I started as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), soon became a CNA/Med Aide and then Supervisor in a long term care facility. I developed a passion for senior care, and the idea of becoming an advocate for aging with dignity. Some of my most precious moments were providing care not only for my residents but also the families during trying and uncertain times. Having families say they sleep better at night knowing we are caring for their loved ones has reinforced my belief in and passion for senior care."
Paulette Bowers, Employee Experience Coordinator
