Christiana Jerue

Meet Christiana Jerue, our October 2024 Caregiver of the Month. Christiana joined the Right at Home family in December of 2023. Since that time, she has been dedicated to one client on a full-time basis. Christiana goes above and beyond in caring for our clients and will always step in to cover for them in an emergency. Her continued dedication and compassionate care are just a few of her commendable attributes.

I have always wanted to be an RN.” In her spare time, Christiana spends most of her time at home and church. Most of her family is still in Liberia, and she misses them greatly.

Fred K., Christiana's full-time client, was very happy to hear of Christiana's recognition. “ She deserves this! She treats me so well.”, voiced Fred. He was very pleased and more than happy to pose for a picture with Christiana.

May Caregiver of the Month

Bill Nash

Congratulations to Bill Nash, Caregiver of the Month, May 2024. Bill’s dedication to our clients and his willingness to do whatever it takes to help others in need is commendable. Bill has been with Right at Home since April 2020 and has achieved Caregiver of the Month on more than one occasion.

In the month of May, Bill put his personal life on hold to accept a live-in case for 4 days while our client’s family was struggling to find placement for their loved one. Bill was more than happy to assist so long as we assured him his long-term client would be cared for in his absence. The family is forever grateful for Bill and expressed, “…We don’t know what we would have don’t without him.”

Bill’s long-term client, Harold, and Harold’s mother, Linda, were present when Bill received his award. When asked how he felt about Bill, Harold smiled, lit up with delight and offered a “thumb’s up”. When asked what she liked about Bill, Linda responded, “I love Bill because Harold loves Bill. They are best of buddies and Bill deserves this award.”

We would also like to congratulate Bill on his personal journey to get healthy. In 2022 Bill recognized his health was not the best due to his weight. Bill set his goals, worked very hard to achieve them, and two years later Bill lost a total of 400lbs. He is feeling spectacular and looks amazing.

During his time away from work, Bill is attending nursing school. He is working diligently to achieve his RN license.

Bill lives with his partner, Rick, and they have 2 lizards. When asked the lizard’s names, Bill said, “They don’t have names, they are lizards.”

2023 Caregiver of the Year & January 2024 Caregiver of the Month

Bob Nelson

Recently, our office was thrilled to recognize Bob Nelson for providing an exceptional level of care to clients in the area and was awarded Caregiver of the Year for 2023 at a ceremony at our Pottstown location. Prior to joining the Right at Home team, Bob worked for various other agencies and has been a caregiver for over six years. He developed his passion for caring for others while taking care of his blind grandfather as he was growing up. His grandfather lived nearby, and Bob became his “seeing eye human” and enjoyed educating him about social media, the internet and pop culture. He says “I like helping people. I have done it since I was a child.”

After his grandfather’s passing, he wanted to continue helping people and found a career as a caregiver. He is inspired by fictional characters and his favorite quote from All-Star Superman written by Grant Morrison is “You are much stronger than you think you are”.

Right at Home of Lower Berks County, Upper Chester County and Western Montgomery County, Care Director Kate Book, thinks Bob is a superstar. She says, “Caregiver of the Year is our top star in reliability.  Bob truly goes above and beyond to perform high quality care for our clients and is the epitome of our mission.” Upon winning this award Bob said, “The award means a lot to me. It’s nice to be recognized for doing what I like to do
