Proudly Serving the Community for 12 Years

Our Vision

Our vision statement is “To be the most recognized and trusted homecare provider, employer, and resource in mid-Michigan; helping those we serve, and employ, live their best lives possible, wherever they call home.”

That’s a bold statement, as all vision statements should be. To be the most recognized and trusted homecare company with our stakeholders, we continually strive to achieve three things:

First and foremost is that we are providing the best care possible to our clients:  seniors and other people recovering from injury and illness.  This also includes providing “peace of mind” for our client’s family members, with them knowing that Right at Home is looking out for their loved-ones while providing great care.

Second, we want Right at Home to be more than just the best place to work for our caregivers. We want to help our caregivers to truly reach their goals in life.  After all, without our great caregiver team, we can’t fulfill our promise to our clients and their families, our partners, or the communities we serve.

Finally, we want to be an important contributor to the communities we serve. We want to not only provide great care but be a resource and a force for education and change for the communities we serve.

Our Mission

Our Mission statement is “To improve the quality of life of our clients, their families, our caregivers and our partners.”

Like our vision, our mission focuses on all stakeholders: our clients and their families, our employees, and our community partners.

We recognize that “improving the quality of live” can mean different things, we take the time to truly understand what the goals of our clients and their families are so we can create a customized care plan to address those needs and any other concerns a family may have for their loved ones.

We also recognize that improving the lives of our staff can take many forms, including rewards & recognition, training, benefits, and other support.  Our goal is to not only provide a great place to work but to help our staff achieve their dreams.

Along with clients and their families having peace of mind, our goal for our partners – those that refer to us – is that they know that when they call us, they know we will provide the best care possible for their patients.

Our Founder, Allen Hager. Our Founder, Allen Hager.

Our History

During his years working as a hospital administrator, our founder Allen Hager watched many patients, especially seniors, leave the hospital and return home. But they did not necessarily return to health. Allen found that, once at home, a lot of his former patients were unable to care for themselves. He knew that with a little help, most of these people could lead healthy, happy lives in their homes. This became the idea for Right at Home.

After talking to dozens of families about the challenges they faced and what kinds of care would help, he became a certified nursing assistant to experience firsthand the needs of people who required professional assistance to continue living at home.

Today, with the help of Allen’s insights, Right at Home has grown to over 600 locations that serve tens of thousands of clients across the U.S. and around the world.

Our Philanthropies

Right at Home’s mission is “to improve the quality of life for those we serve,” and expanding our mission to serve others around the world is truly a pleasure. We support many organizations that help people live independently.

Free Wheelchair Mission

Globally, an estimated 70 million people with disabilities have no access to a wheelchair. Those who cannot walk must crawl or be carried to their destination. In collaboration with a network of like-minded partners, Free Wheelchair Mission has distributed more than 1 million wheelchairs to people with disabilities in 93 developing countries around the world, providing renewed dignity, independence and hope through the gift of mobility, at no cost to the recipient.

As an organization, our work with Free Wheelchair Mission began in 2016 as we looked for a partner that would help us further our mission of improving lives worldwide. To date, our team’s efforts have raised more than $400,000 that has funded over 5,000 wheelchairs, which were distributed through life-changing Vision Trips to Vietnam, Ecuador and Costa Rica.

Josiah’s House

Over half of the children living in the Dominican Republic live below the poverty line and can be found on the streets in at-risk surroundings in order to make money. Josiah’s House runs family-style homes that provide vulnerable boys and girls with the basic necessities, education, life skills, and family home atmosphere needed to succeed.

Recently, 70 Right at Home offices came together to support Josiah’s House by supplying everyday items for the children of Josiah’s House. The group delivered suitcases full of clothing, personal hygiene items, toys, and other supplies.
