Your Career as a Caregiver
A Note about COVID-19
Now, more than ever, it’s clear how essential caregivers really are. The people we serve rely on our caregivers, not just for companionship during a time of isolation, but also for assistance with their basic needs. Without dedicated caregivers, many seniors and adults with disabilities would be left with little support. You can make all the difference.
When you become a caregiver, no day will ever be exactly the same as the last. No matter what type of caregiving you provide, you will always have a wide variety of duties and experiences.
And that’s important to us.
Caregivers are the heart of our organization. We know our company couldn’t exist without you, which is why it’s so important to us to keep your passion strong and to ensure your needs are met.

Right at Home Everett/Snohomish 2022 Caregiver of the Year Maryanne Piazza
Over the years the caregiver has been faithful to all of her clients. She has not only improved the lives of those she serves, but she does not enable. She works with her clients to assist them in the best way possible but also encourages them to do for themselves. For example, she has a client who is living with Dementia, and she took him to go singing to an assisted living weekly, before the pandemic started, something he enjoyed and looked forward to doing. She takes the client(s) to the medical appointments as well as activities in the assisted living where she provides services one on one with a Right at Home Client. She works hard to keep her clients "active" by encouraging them to participate in life. There is never a time when a client has ever said to us that they do not enjoy this caregiver's faithful service and commitment to their care. One of her clients had three very old corgi dogs and she faithfully assisted them when they needed help to go to the vet. She even put on doggy diapers to assist in the cleanliness of the home for those Senior dogs. She was there with her client when two of them passed away and consoled him. She still assists in clean up with them and makes sure that his very special dog is taken care of so that he does not worry.
This caregiver insisted she stay with her clients during the pandemic. She was one of the first people to get vaccinated so that she did not unnecessarily expose her client(s) to a virus. She wipes down the environment and communicates with the families to make sure the living environment is very clean. When this caregiver stepped away to move to another state, the first thing she did when she came back was ask for her old clients back and they were so glad to take her back. She has faithfully served this client and his spouse for many years and even celebrated when he graduated from Hospice. This caregiver has always been prepared, comes, and gets her PPE so that she never runs out. She has also maintained her status as a COVID vaccinated caregiver without reminders. She is always one of the first to get trained and get her continuing education completed annually.
This caregiver is the first to ask what is coming up. She always is responsive to all zoom and in person meetings. We have a very special event coming up and she called to ask what she could bring. She also has stepped up on a Saturday when she has worked a full week to take on a last-minute shift for her other clients if they need someone driving as far as one hour up and one hour back to get to her clients at night or during the day. She is also the first to ask what is needed by the office staff to make an event successful.
